Color Tunnel – Tricky in a good way

Color Tunnel (by silvergames.com) is one of the very first web games we’ve ever featured on Edamame Reviews and for the most part, we really like it! Although we hate to admit it, some games are just so much better with a keyboard.

And since it’s a web game, you can play it right here, right now. How convenient! We should probably get into reviewing more web games. 😂

Color Tunnel is a high-speed 3D avoider game about avoiding obstacles both inside and on-top of a long octagonal prism (you know you should have paid more attention in math class) in order to achieve your next high score. And saying that the game is “kind of fast” would be a gross understatement.

Although far from impossible, the speed at which you zip both through and around different 3D tunnels doesn’t make Color Tunnel an easy game to master. During our first 5-10 attempts, we couldn’t even make it out of the first tunnel – which definitely isn’t great considering it is our job to review games full time. 😂

Thankfully for us, there does seem to be a bit of a learning curve involved with mastering this game, and by the time we reached our 15th or so attempt, we were making it fairly consistently to the 2nd and 3rd stages of the game which is a bit more impressive.

If you’ve been following our media for a while now, or simply love games in this genre, you may remember a game called Tunnel Madness 3D by App Advisory. Based on essentially the same concept as Color Tunnel, Tunnel Madness 3D is available for both iOS and Android which is great for when you are on the go but pales in comparison to the immersiveness of Color Tunnel.

If you are like us and are used to playing games on your phone where your hands cover anywhere from 1/5 to 1/3 of the visible screen area, playing a game you’ve already experienced on a mobile device but with no distractions (thank you keyboard) is an amazing experience we really enjoyed.

With fast fluid graphics, excellent controls, and very few Ads, playing Color Tunnel in your browser could actually be a better alternative to playing a similar type of mobile game on your phone. Mobile games cram-packed with Ads could be about to face some steep competition…
