How developers game: with Badbones Productions the creator of Dothaus

Welcome to our series on “How developers game”. Today we’re talking with Badbones Productions the creator of Dothaus – sharing a little about how developers both play and make their favorite games!

Before we start we would like to thank the Badbones Productions Team for participating in our interview and for answering all our questions! Thanks!

/// Thanks for taking the time to talk to us about Dothaus and your gaming setup. First things first, are you a PC person or a Mac person? And more importantly, why do you prefer using what you do?

I have always been a Mac person. Even though I started to learn programming and the basics of IT with PC, MS-DOS, Windows and Turbo Pascal language, I prefer Apple because it is not only a computer brand but a big ecosystem where you can work and manage all of your ideas from the same place.

/// Can we have a list of your top 3 gaming peripherals when playing and making games on your PC or Mac.

My only peripherals are

  • MacBook Pro 13” Touch Bar 2019
  • iMac 27
  • iPhone XR
  • Magic Mouse
  • Marshall Headphones

/// Is there anything weird or unique to the work you do about your setup that you would be willing to share with us?

Yes, there are unique things I always have with me when I’m coding: my e-cig, enough coffee to stay awake and focused and often a good Pink Floyd or another kind of great real music album on play.

/// Moving on to your smartphone, iOS or Android? And why?

As I answered in the first question, I prefer Apple so naturally, I use an iPhone.

/// Top 3 games on your phone other than Dothaus!

My games 😆 Ahahah, sorry, I’m joking. Here are 3 games I enjoy

  • 1-bit Rogue (I love it)
  • Bacon
  • MrBullet

You can check out my games here 😉

/// Last questions, for all the newbie developers out there, what do you actually need to buy in terms of hardware in order to start making games? What is your advice?

I think if you have the potential and want to make good things, you can do everything with a Mac and an iPhone!
