Tank Buddies – The cutest “shoot-em-up” by Kiseki

Tank Buddies is the 3rd game from Kiseki Games we’ve featured on Edamame Reviews and is by far the hardest game released by the new indie studio to date. Although cute on the outside, the challenge that awaits you within will have you playing more seriously than ever before…!

Set in the same blocky 3D world as every other Kiseki game we’ve featured on Edamame Reviews, your mission in this game is to blast your way past numerous enemies as you speed down a seemingly neverending stretch of enemy-filled road. Although we aren’t sure about this, due to the fact that the game is broken up into levels there is the possibility this game actually has an end.

Unlike most mobile top-down shoot-em-up games we’ve previously featured on our site, Tank Buddies doesn’t exactly allow you to “Mow Though Your Opponents!” as do other games in the same basic genre. In fact, until you start upgrading your player’s stats, it is virtually impossible for you to complete the first boss battle without some extreme piloting skill and a whole lot of luck.

Tank Buddies features 3 basic upgrades, (ATK, HP, and  SPC), plus 4 unlockable characters each with a slightly different (Power-Shot) which is automatically charged while your finger is touching the screen of your device, and is fired the moment you release.

Tank Buddies

By carefully deciding when and what to upgrade as well as saving your (Power-Shots) for the most important boss battle at the end of each level, Tank Buddies is hard, yet not so hard you’ll want to give up. A great balance for most players.

Besides at times feeling slightly difficult to control (mostly due to the way in which you happen to be holding your phone at the time) Tank Buddies should be a fairly simple game for you to both learn and play. If you think it’s about time you added yet another cute game to your collection, this may just be the game you’ve been waiting for.

The Conclusion

Tank Buddies is yet another cute game from the Kiseki Games team that we highly recommend you check out.

Since it has been nearly 5 months since our last interview with Kiseki Games we look forward to hearing what’s going on and hopefully gaining some insider information on what to expect next!
