Do you remember our review of an exiting new multyplayer puzzle game called Starlit Archery Club? Today, we would like to share our interview with the awesome team of developers what made it all happen! If you have yet to check out our review of Starlit Archery Club, you can do so here!

Before we start we’d like to thank the Rockhead Games Team for participating in our interview and for answering all of our geeky questions! Thanks Guys!

…and without further ado, our interview begins…

The Interview

Thanks for taking the time to talk to us about Starlit Archery Club, could you kick-start this interview by telling us a little about your studio and what drew you to Game Development?

Hello all! I’m Fernando D’Andrea from Rockhead Games. Rockhead Games has existed since 2010, but Christian (my business partner) and I, have been treading a quite longer path in the game-making thing, (Since 1996). Today we’re a strong team of 12 people. We’ve been drawn to game-making since childhood, as we owned MSX computers when we were kids, instead of the more common video games. 😃

First question. What was the core idea (or inspiration) that sparked the development of Starlit Archery Club?

The first thing we wanted was to stay in the Starlit Adventures universe. The second was that we wanted to dive into the player vs. player experience. So we started to think about what would make a sport in the Starlit Adventures world, and what would make an interesting e-sport that players on a smartphone screen would find nice.

What were the hardest problems you faced during the different development stages of Starlit Archery Club?

The first was to come up with gameplay that we thought to be nice. It took a long time for us to arrive at a gameplay that was simple enough and yet had enough depth. The second was to make it work nicely online.

For our nerdy Developer Fans, what programming language and or software did you use when developing Starlit Archery Club? And was it a good decision?

It’s made with Unity and programmed mostly in C#. It is a really nice tech to work with.

What advice would you give to a new player trying Starlit Archery Club for the first time?

The cards! Try them out! Watch and learn the things other players do while using the cards!

Where do you get your inspiration or ideas from?

Mostly from the things we’ve played when we were kids. Some of the most awesome gameplay ever and the lessons we’ve learned from that time still have so much to offer.

A few words to Starlit Archery Club fans on Edamame Reviews. Any new games in the near future? What can we look forward to next?

The team thanks you all. Thank you for all the support. You guys can bet there’s a lot more coming to the Starlit universe. Not only is there a new game in the making, there’s more than games in the future! Follow us on our channels on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram

Also, we’ve been working to make our games that are already-out even better, so you can expect to see new things in Starlit Archery Club as well as the classic Starlit Adventures.
