Return of Dr. Destructo – Pocket sized arcade action!

Did you read Max Savenkov’s article Return of Dr. Destructo? If so, chances are you – just like us – were interested in giving Return of Dr. Destructo a try for yourself. …But, just in case you haven’t tried it yet… This is our review of Return of Dr. Destructo!

Return of Dr. Destructo is a game that makes your smartphone look like an arcade gaming machine from your childhood/youth. With basically no physics, old-fashioned visual effects, and classic pixel graphics, this is a game that will bring back strong nostalgic memories from your childhood. Depending on how many video games you were allowed to play as a child…😉

Played using a virtual joystick, and two shoot buttons (for Bombs and Machine Guns), Return of Dr. Destructo is surprisingly easy to play considering it was originally designed for the pre-mobile era.

Now, depending on whether or not you read Max Savenkov’s article, this may or may not be new to you, but your mission in Return of Dr. Destructo is to destroy each level (i.e. the stage itself) using nothing but one small fighter plane.

Sound impossible? It would be if it weren’t for the burning/exploding wrecks of your enemies that plummet down to the stage below🔥

If you would like a game that takes you back in time, back to the days when you played games on arcade machines that forced you to insert coins(!) “No free to play games.” This is the game for you.

Although the graphics, controls, gameplay system, everything(!), isn’t anything like modern smartphone games, for those times when you just feel like taking a break from all the new and taking a moment to look back, this is the best modernized retro game we’ve played in a long time.
