Pocket Run Pool – The best pool game we’ve seen for players on the go!

We don’t usually review many pool games for iOS or Android, but out of the few pool games we have reviewed, Pocket Run Pool (by Zach Gage) is probably the best one yet! We’re now one step closer to becoming a professional hustler. 🎱

From the creators of Really Bad Chess which was potentially the worst chess game we have ever played – in a good way – Pocket Run Pool is much more logical and straightforward. Played just like any other pool game, Pocket Run Pool consists of mostly aiming and shooting balls with your pool cue in order to gain points. In fact, the only real difference we instantly noticed was that Pocket Run Pool is a single player game.

Although we are sure there are probably many different ways to play pool, in most cases we picture the game having at least two players. Pocket Run Pool is a single player game, which means the rules are a little different to what you may be used to.

Firstly you are given 3 lives. If you accidentally sink your own ball or don’t sink anything during one of your turns you lose a life. Secondly, each of the 6 pockets is labeled either (x1, x2, x4, x6, x8, x10) which represents how many points you will receive if you sink a ball in that pocket e.g. If you sink a 5 in the x4 pocket, you get 20 points!

And lastly, to make things just a little more complicated, each time you sink a ball, all of the labels will rotate, changing which pockets will give you the most points. As an extra rule, sinking the 8 ball will rotate the labels randomly which is annoying, but will not instantly end the game (GAME OVER) as we feared…

With 3 game modes for you to try out, 1 normal one and 2 scary ones, not too many Ads, and the same simplistic design that was featured in Really Bad Chess, this is a game we really enjoyed even though we aren’t the best when it comes to pool games…😅

If you’re actually good at playing pool in the digital world or in real life, you will probably have even more fun playing this simple game.

The Conclusion

If you’re after a simple mobile pool game for iOS that doesn’t have the scammy feel of an online casino, Pocket Run Pool is a game you will probably really enjoy. It is easy to learn, simple to play and looks great on your smartphone. If only it was available on Android…😭
