Are you a fan of what may still be the best game from Voodoo in our opinion Paper.io? According to an interview with the co-founders of Voodoo, Paper.io was the game that ignited the flame that boosted Voodoo into what it is today. So when we saw that a part 2 is now available, we just had to check it out.
Paper.io 2 (by Voodoo) brings more circles into what was a mostly square world. For anyone who has played any of the many popular Paper.io “inspired” games, such as Clash.io (by Ketchapp) Paper.io 2 feels essentially the same.
Set on a circular stage, your mission in this game is to expand your territory by eliminating your opponents and circling new territory with your cube. Played by touching and dragging on the screen of your device in order to control the direction in which your player moves, Paper.io 2 gives up the simple swipe controls (we actually kind of liked) in exchange for a new joystick style control system which gives you more control and freedom over the direction in which your player moves.
Other than the controls, the graphics have gotten a bit of a bump, making the game more 3D than its predecessor. (The number of Ads you’ll be required to watch doesn’t really change which is kind of sad but expected at this point…)
For crazy players like ourselves who tried time and time again to capture 100% of the board by slowly creeping around the outer edge of the stage, attempting this crazy feat is now a lot easier! Crashing into the edge of the stage will no longer kill you (unless you collide head-on), making it a lot easier to pursue that 100% dream.
Other than that, not a lot has changed. To honest, Paper.io 2 looks a lot more like its competitors which is kind of sad, but understandable at the same time.

Love the game but as I have left on other boards is when you die and have covered a large area and you hit the green extra life button to continue after u watch whatever add they have. But 9 out of 10 times as soon as I reappear I die for no reason AND/OR my area is 100% gone and I die immediately. Either way, you die immediately! That’s after u have expected to be give. Another life and after watching the stupid ads! Why even have that if it just gets your hopes up. Extremely frustrating!!! It’s starting to keep me from playing it.
