Interview with Alice Kim the creator of Space 8-bit.

Space 8-bit. may be the most retro game we’ve ever reviewed one Edamame Reviews. This game will make your brand new smartphone look like an antique.

Today we’d like to share with you our interview with the amazingly talented SAB team that brought this brand new antique to The Apple App Store and Google Play.

Original Review -> Check it out!

Before we start, we’d like to thank Alice Kim for participating in our interview, and for spending some of her valuable time in answering our questions. Thanks Alice.

Now without any further ado our interview begins.

Ok first up, why did you decide to make Space 8-bit.?

As we said in our press-release, there was a kind of school work of our Studio Head in 1995. When he was creating this game, he had been inspired by the games from his childhood. In 1988 his parents gave him a gift – an Atari 2600 console. In the Soviet Union it was really cool, because this device costed approx. 1800 RUB beyond the iron curtain in 1988. For comparison, the average monthly wage in the USSR was about 120 RUB. So, our boss was a very happy young boy 🙂 That’s why this game is so important for him personally. That’s why he had decided to rebuild it and develop its remastered version for mobile phones.

Wow, so what programming language and or software did you use when making Space 8-bit.?

We used C# Unity 3D in our development. Actually, we think this programming language is very useful for mobile games.

Yeah, we agree🙂Here is a mean question. What was the hardest problem you needed to overcome when developing Space 8-bit.?

Can’t remember any unresolved problems during the development of the project. Perhaps the main problem was to preserve all traditions of the original game. In the style, design, music, control settings… Because we were trying not to change anything in that original game of 1995.

Last question. Where do you get your inspiration or ideas from?

We have been inspired by the impressions of the past, by our childhood, by our school times. I guess you know what we mean too 🙂

A few words to Space 8-bit. fans on Edamame Reviews.
